Basel, Switzerland and Newport Beach, CA – October 22, 2008 - Day Software (SWX:DAYN, OTCQX:DYIHY), a leading provider of global content management software, today introduced three leading customers and their use and successes with the Early Access Release of Communiqué v5.0 (CQ5). Day’s new flagship content management offering introduces an upgraded content repository infrastructure based on modern open source technologies and standards with a new compelling user experience for Web Content Management, Digital Asset Management and Social Collaboration solutions.
CQ5’s core is an updated version of Day’s CRX repository, a commercially licensed, enterprise-ready version of Day Software sponsored Apache Jackrabbit and Apache Sling projects. CRX, the industry’s first, and leading JCR (JSR170) implementation, now incorporates a new content application framework based on a pioneering, RESTful architecture for high-performance Web 2.0 initiatives. CQ5 builds on this updated infrastructure with new end user applications for Web Content Management, Digital Asset Management and Social Collaboration based on key learnings from Day’s industry-leading customer base.
Feature presentations included:
- City of Zurich: Leveraging CQ5 for its new citizen portal to rollout new citizen services through both Web and mobile channels
- Messe Frankfurt: Empowering end-users to quickly create and launch new Internet websites using CQ5 to promote their fairs and tradeshows across the globe.
- University of Phoenix: Consolidating content repositories enterprise-wide on Day CQ5 to power a new portal for students, faculty, and online communities.
“CQ5’s full Web Content Management, Digital Asset Management and Social Collaboration product suite enables companies across the globe to effectively focus on building their businesses,” said David Nuescheler, CTO for Day. “As we continue to evolve and generate incomparable, industry-leading technologies, our enterprise customers will continue to benefit and grow.”
Day’s technologies allow companies to access their most valuable assets – information about their specific businesses, processes, products, customers and documents, which were previously ‘locked’ in proprietary repositories. Working with industry leaders such as EMC, IBM, SUN and Oracle, Day initiated and drove industry adoption of JSR 170. Under the leadership of Nuescheler, JSR 283 (version 2.0 of the Content Repository for Java Technology API) has successfully cleared Public Review.
